These are portraits of Amber using natural light to bring out her beauty. Both color and black and white photography was used. These pictures were taken a greenbelt in South Austin and a Penn Field complex in Austin. Penn Field was a airfield during World War I which offers some seriously cool architecture and great photographic opportunities.

These are beauty portraits taken of Nikki. The colors of her skin tone and hair are fabulous for on location photography in Greenbelt in South Austin. Of particular note the colors in the cheetah print dress perfectly matched her natural tones. In the bright light against patches of dried leaves you can see just how effective the camouflage effect of the cheetah’s markings really are. The bright yellows of a sun bathed creek bed also perfectly harmonize with her hair color and create a wonder color scheme.

Amber and I were originally planning on shooting outside but the weather in Austin, Texas is quite unpredictable and ended up being a cold rainy day. What’s a photographer to do?

Sometimes simple things can be beautiful. These photos were taken using nothing but a camera, a tripod and window light on a rainy day. Technically these would be boudoir or intimate photographs.

The soft lighting is partially due overcast rainy day, shooting in extremely low light and by using shear sheets which would absorb and further diffuse the light, we get a soft angelic look.

The combination of the water, lighting, white dress and hair and skin tones, made for some very beautiful shots. We additionally took some very colorful bikini swimsuit shots.

Water is one of my absolute favorite settings to photography someone in.

The blue and purple wall photos were taken at Penn Field which a few block from my studio near Ben White and Congress.  In the pictures where she is sitting on the railing of a house, that house is actually a Wells Fargo Bank on the corner of Congress and Oltorf. The remaining images were taken at Butler Park on Lady Bird Lake.

What’s really nice about these photos is the wide variety of lighting effects utilized. Natural light is used to it’s full advantage to take beauty or glamour shots. In my opinion the photographs are more alive and more intense than the typical in studio portrait.

I also used a variety of tones and colors as well as black & whites.

These photos were shot in a greenbelt and Penn Field in Austin, Texas.

Water presents interesting photographic opportunities. Water is beautiful, it reflects light and yet it is transparent. It shimmers, it glows, it ripples and myriad of other interesting effects which can enhance a photograph.

Additionally, it’s quite surprising the huge variety of colors water presents in photographs. In some cases it’s blue; in others it because yellow or green.

Beauty Photography

A style of art photography where the photographer attempts to make his subject as beautiful as possible by controlling a large number of factors such as; lighting, color scheme, facial expression, background setting, pose, etc

Pin-up

Based off the 1950s pin up models, this is style of photography all in its own. Pin up shoots are usually themed, cute, naively innocent with a tiny hint of sexual suggestion. Most pin up lingerie shoots are less revealing than a typical bikini shoots.

Boudoir and Intimates

Think Victory Secrets here. This level is high quality glamour lingerie photos. Sometime times this style is shot with the same lighting and posing as art implied nudes or art nudes. Poses in this style emphasize beauty and are generally not sexually explicit.
